This inkjet printer is compatible with all major operating systems, including Windows, Mac and Linux. Basically, any computer will be able to attach to the Z24 and work flawlessly. Connections must be made through a USB port and cable, which is the only option. Newer models have slots for memory cards, Bluetooth and PictBridge connection options.
Only two Lexmark Z24 ink cartridges are used in this inkjet printer, keeping the cost of maintenance at a minimum. The black printer ink has the ability to make over 400 documents before expiring. However, the color Lexmark Z24 ink only has the capacity to print 275 pages before running out. Replacement printer ink is easy enough to find though. Remanufactured Lexmark Z24 ink cartridges have the same quality and page yield, just at half the price tag.
A maximum resolution of 1200x1200 dpi can be reached using just black or color. This will provide crisp text documents and vivid images and graphics. Envelopes, banners, transparencies and photo paper are a few of the media types that are compatible with the Z24. Overall, though this unit does not have all of features or functions offered these days, it is reliable and durable.
