Its all-in-one functions are well-designed and its fast speed is impressive, but its price is higher than similar competing units. Consumers looking for a personal printer will not need this volume and should try a unit with HP CE285A toner.
The design of the Lexmark X620 laser printer, also known as the X620e, has a little more bulk than most in its class, but there are some worthwhile tradeoffs for its size, such as excellent paper capacity and a large flatbed scanning surface. The unit measures 15.9 inches by 16.4 inches by 20.2 inches, and weighs 45 pounds.
The machine can print, copy, scan, and fax. Unlike less expensive machines, where one function is often stronger than others, all of its functions are very well-designed, and integrate well with each other. It also has built-in networking support, for connecting it directly to a network and sharing among multiple computers. Nearly all of its functions can be used over the network or in standalone mode, for the ultimate in convenience.
A wide range of operating systems are supported, including Windows, Mac OS, Linux, and even Solaris and Netware. Multiple media types are supported, including envelopes, transparencies, labels, and cards.
Lexmark X620 toner cartridges come in two cartridge sizes. The standard laser toner cartridge has a capacity of 10,000 pages, while the high-yield printer toner cartridge has a capacity of 30,000 pages. Foro color printing options, a Phaser 6360 printers feature Xerox 106R01220 toner. The high-yield X620 cartridge has a much lower cost per page, even though its upfront cost is a little higher, making it the most economical option.
Print speed is impressive, at 30 pages per minute. Scanning speed is also fast, at 23 pages per minute for black scans, and 14 pages per minute for color scans. Print quality is excellent across the board.
Overall, the Lexmark X620 has an impressive feature set, and is very fast, but its high price tag makes it difficult to recommend over competing models. Also, the volume is a bit excessive for many smaller offices, who might prefer a lower-volume unit that features Okidata 42127403 toner, for instance.
