The machine can print, scan, copy, and even fax. It has a 10-page automatic document feeder for scanning, copying, or faxing multiple pages at once. While this is convenient, busy users might wish the ADF had a larger capacity. There is also a flatbed scanner for scanning larger materials. Copying and faxing both operate in standalone mode, without the need for a connected computer. There are even 1-touch buttons on the front panel for color copies or black copies, making it a quick and easy process. The unit even has a few consumer-friendly features, such as memory card slots and a PictBridge-enabled USB port for connecting digital cameras and their memory cards.
Cnet rated the Lexmark X5470 inkjet 3 out of 5 stars. They praised its low price, its memory card slots, and its automatic document feeder. They disliked its mediocre print quality, slow copy speeds, and the fact that there is only one input paper tray.
Overall, the Lexmark X5470 may appeal to small office users with basic needs, or a home user who needs some basic office features. Most serious office users will probably find it a bit limited on features, however.
