Lexmark is among the leading manufacturers of monochromatic laser printers that have multiple functions. The Lexmark X464 has many of the same features as its predecessor, the X463, but it offers faxing in addition to scanning, printing and copying. With a monthly duty cycle of 80,000 prints, the X464 is designed to handle demanding print needs on a daily basis.
The copying portion of the machine has the ability to reduce and enlarge images so duplicates print at whatever size it desired. The scanner can produce an internal resolution of 600 dpi and has a flatbed surface for thicker documents. The fax machine has multiple speed dials options and has a transmission rate of 33.6 Kbps which allows users to send and receive faxes in just about 3 seconds. Duplex printing is also a built-in feature which allows double-sided documents to be easily printed, reducing paper costs.
The memory that is built-in to the machine is 128 MB and that can be upgraded to 640 MB if needed. A 500 MHz CPU is also included in the production of the X464, as is a started Lexmark X464 toner cartridge. When the starter printer toner has expired, three different replacement toners are available. The standard capacity Lexmark X464 toner cartridge has a page yield of 3,500, while the high capacity can print 9,000 and the extra high-capacity option can produce up to 15,000 pages.
The most impressive feature of this laser printer is its ability to print up to 40 pages per minute but not sacrificing the 1200x2400 dpi resolution created by the Lexmark X464 toner.
