The Lexmark Optra T616 laser printer is designed for the small or medium office environment. It has fast speeds, excellent print quality, and expandability, combined in a compact and affordable package. For home offices or small offices that require a relatively low amount of prints, the Lexmark E250, which uses Lexmark E250A21A toner.
The design of the Lexmark T616 laser printer is not the most compact on the market, but given its high-volume performance, it is surprising how compact it actually is. The unit measures 21.2 inches by 16.5 inches by 20.2 inches, and weighs 52 pounds. It supports a wide range of media types, including envelopes, transparencies, and labels. Networking support is not included in the base model, but the T616N model includes built-in networking, or it can be added later as an optional upgrade.
Paper capacity is 1,100 sheets in its standard configuration, but it can be expanded to a maximum of 4,100 sheets if necessary. The initial 16 MB of memory can also be upgraded to 384 MB total. The unit also has the option of adding a 2.1 GB hard drive, allowing users to store files directly on the machine for archiving or later printing. This is particularly convenient for documents that are printed over and over.
The Lexmark T616 toner cartridges are very affordably-priced. Standard Lexmark Optra T616 toner cartridges have a capacity of 10,000 pages, but high-yield laser toner cartridges are a much better value, with a capacity of 25,000 pages. Using the high-yield printer toner cartridge will reduce the cost per page for much more economical printing, and the cost per page using this printer toner is much more affordable than the similar Dell 330-1433 toner.
Print speed is very fast, at up to 35 pages per minute. Print quality is excellent across the board, as the unit utilizes a 1200 dpi printing engine for extra sharp print quality, for both text and graphics. If graphics require color, models that use Canon 0453B003AA toner are a good choice.
Overall, the Lexmark T616 is a very impressive printer with great speed and quality out of the box, and a wide array of upgrade options to enhance its performance and capacity now and in the future.
