Designed for the business environment the T430 will produce prints at a quoted 32 pages per minute; however, your results will differ based on the complexity of the complexity of the document and color coverage percentages. It speeds outweigh a lot of the competition, namely the Canon MF6550 toner printer. Not to mention your first page is out in less than 8 seconds for text and graphics, granted, if you are printing an extremely large file it will be a little longer but not by much.
Text presented itself very well in printing even at small font sizes, while the graphics and photos fell behind with some banding in the light and dark areas of the grayscale. As long as you are not a heavy graphics user this printer is great. The monochrome printing is all done with an easy to replace laser printer toner cartridge. A back lit LCD screen helps you to navigate the menus and provides information on resolutions, of which there are 4, print status and trouble shooting to name a few.
Cost per page is average and comparable to other printers in its class. The Lexmark T430 monochrome laser printer comes standard with USB and parallel ports but does not come with the cords. This seems to be a common trend in the printer industry, such as with the LaserJet P2035 toner printer. Networking is optional on higher end models. A skimpy input of 250 sheets can be expanded and probably should. To speed the printing times upgrade the 32 MB of RAM to 288 MB.
