The Lexmark P315 is a portable inkjet photo printer designed for use when traveling or on-the-go. Its extremely compact and lightweight design and low price are impressive, yet it can still produce excellent photo prints at a fast speed. Lexmark P315 ink prices are fairly reasonable.
The Lexmark P315 is designed to print directly from a digital camera or memory card as a portable printer. Therefore, it does not have the capability to even connect to a laptop or other computer. This could be a downside, but it keeps the operation of the machine simple and effective. The unit supports most memory card formats and has a PictBridge port for connecting cameras. It is quite compact, measuring 5.6 inches by 10.8 inches by 8.3 inches and weighing only 4.9 pounds. At this size, it is very easy to carry around when traveling.
The unit uses a single Lexmark P315 ink cartridge. The standard printer ink cartridge has a capacity of only 190 pages, which gives it a fairly high cost per page. Using the high-capacity Lexmark P315 ink cartridge with a page yield of 450 pages is a much more economical choice and brings the cost of printer ink in line with most of its competition.
PC Magazine reviewed the Lexmark P315 inkjet printer and liked its low price and compact size. They found its photo quality to be reasonably good as well. They wished for the ability to operate on a battery, as with some competing models and found its print speed a bit slow, however.
Overall, the Lexmark P315 provides fairly quick and high-quality photo prints in a small size that can travel with the buyer wherever they need it to go. While not as low as larger units, the cost of Lexmark P315 ink won't break the bank, either.
