Only two Lexmark IJ900 ink cartridges come with this device. One of these holds only black printer ink, while the other contains cyan, yellow and magenta. A downside to having three different colors of ink within one reservoir is when one color runs out, the entire printer ink tank must be replaced. Fortunately, remanufactured versions of the Lexmark IJ900 ink cartridges that cost less than half as much as the OEM versions are an option.
When printing with the black Lexmark IJ900 ink, approximately 2-3 pages can be printed per minute. When using the color inkjet tanks, it can take over 2 minutes to print a full page. These speeds are not good, but they are tolerable. A maximum resolution of 1200x1200 dpi can be obtained using the Lexmark IJ900 ink, which will be perfect for the family.
