The Lexmark E330 is a monochrome laser printer designed for the home or small office user. It features fast print speeds at an affordable price. Print quality is good, but slightly below average. For a color printer check out the Konica Minolta 5430, which uses Konica-Minolta 1710580-003 toner.
The Lexmark E330 not only provides a good set of features and functionality upfront, but it also includes many expansion options, allowing it to grow as its users' needs change. Its paper capacity is 250 sheets in a single drawer, with a single-sheet slot for alternate types of media. The paper capacity can be expanded in the future, however, by adding an additional 550-sheet tray.
Its 200 mhz processor and 32 MB of RAM are enough to handle most documents, but the memory can be expanded to a maximum of 160 MB if necessary for more graphics-heavy printing. The printer connect via USB or parallel to a single computer. Networking the Lexmark E330 is possible, but would require a print server or host computer to accomplish it. The E330 supports all modern versions of Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.
Lexmark E330 toner cartridges are very affordably-priced, resulting in a low cost per page, unlike Okidata 43324404 toner. The printer also has a laser toner save mode for reducing the amount of toner used per page. This combines to make the E330 a very economical printer. Lexmark E330 toner cartridges have a capacity of 2,500 pages in its standard cartridge and 6,000 pages in its high-yield cartridge. Disappointingly, the printer ships with only a 1,000 page starter printer cartridge.
Print speed is very fast for the price at 27 pages per minute. Print quality is mixed, unlike similar Dell 310-7025 toner that always results in high-quality documents.Text is generally sharp with the E330, but loses some clarity at smaller font sizes. This will only be a problem for users who print a lot of small text, however. Graphics quality is generally good.
Overall, the Lexmark E330 is a good choice for the growing office, as it can expand to meet growing needs in the future. Users who print a lot of small fonts may want to look elsewhere.
