Networking is a big issue when finding a new workgroup or small business color printer. You, at least want the ability to upgrade at a later time. Lexmark has the C520 and C530 series offer networking that is built in and expandable. The C524 comes with a 10/100Base TX Ethernet connection as well as an optional wireless interface. The only printer in this group without standardized networking is the C524, which can be connected to an external print server if need be.
The C530dn and C532n are built with a 375 MHz processor and the C534 has a 500 MHz processor. With the speed of processing and memory, which can be as high as 640 MB on some models, these color laser printers deliver high quality graphics and text printing. Text is impeccable, even at small font sizes and complex documents. If you are going to be printing larger documents upgrade your memory or step up to a higher end model. The C524, while being a great printer, is not as capable as the C530dn or the C534n at color reproduction.
At the low end these printers will run you about $500.00 which is great as most other laser printers with these specifications are much more expensive. Print speeds vary form model to model, but should be an average of 20 pages per minute, but your results will vary. Each of the color printers use the same Lexmark toner cartridges. So if you choose to upgrade or get a new modle you won’t have to discard old cartridges, saving you money.
