The Konica Minolta magicolor 1600 is a color laser printer designed for the home or small office. With more speed and print quality than most home office printers, it still manages to stay compact and affordable.
The magicolor 1600 sports a very compact design. It measures 10.9 inches by 15.6 inches by 15 inches (HWD), but these measurements are a little misleading, as they are based on the 1600’s input and output trays being closed. Obviously, they must both be open when printing and most users will not want the inconvenience of having to open the trays and load paper every time they need to print. Users should plan on an extra 6” on the front of the unit when the trays are open. The printer weighs 32 pounds, so it should be fairly easy to move around for most users.
A wide variety of media types and sizes are supported, allowing for much more flexibility than the average home or small office printer. The 1600 supports media types such as postcards, envelopes, and labels, and media sizes such as letter, executive, legal, and folio.
Konica Minolta 1600 toner tends to be a little more expensive than some competing printers. The Konica Minolta magicolor 1600 toner cartridge also has a relatively small toner capacity. The standard toner cartridges have a capacity of 1,500 each, but high-yield cartridges are available in capacities of 2,500 each.
