The OCR (Optical Character Recognition) flatbed scanner can convert scanned text into editable text and can handle bulky jobs, like textbooks. The inkjet copier can make 99 copies from a single original document and can zoom anywhere from 50%-400%. The fax machine has 100 speed dials and a 100 page memory. It will automatically redial up to 5 times, and it will send a page in 6 seconds with a transmission speed of 14.4 Kbps.
When printing or copying with only black HP R80 ink, up to 11 pages per minute can be produced. As many as 8.5 pages per minute can be delivered using the color printer ink. There are two different OfficeJet R80 ink cartridges, one black and one tricolor. The tricolor tank consists of cyan, magenta and yellow printer ink.
Replacement HP R80 ink cartridges are available in new or remanufactured. The remanufactured ink is less than half the price of OEM. Some consumers who have owned this unit for years have complained about the low yield of the OfficeJet R80 ink. However, most users appreciate the reliability.
