Based on the maximum speed, resolution, paper capacity and yield of printer ink, the HP OfficeJet R65 is intended to be used by an individual in a cubicle or at a home office. This machine was not designed to be network printer, as made evident by the parallel port that is the only connection option. The R65 has a compact size yet features the ability to serve as a printer, copier and scanner. The addition of this inkjet device to a work environment will save space, time and energy.
The copying function offers features for users to customize duplicates, including resizing 25-400% of the original size. As many as 99 copies can be made from one scan and up to 10 copies can be printed in a minute. The scanner has editing features as well such as OCR software, which automatically turns all scanned text into editable material. There is a 36-bit internal color depth which fuels the 9600x9600 dpi interpolated resolution, creating clear and accurate scans.
As this is a color inkjet printer, yellow, cyan, magenta and black HP R65 ink is used. There are only two OfficeJet R65 ink cartridges though, one that is tricolor and the other black. When replacement printer ink is needed, users have the choice of OEM or compatible. The tricolor HP R65 ink cartridges can yield up to 620 pages and the black can yield 830 pages. Though brand-name and compatible options will produce the same number of pages, the compatible OfficeJet R65 ink costs considerably less.
There is a built-in memory of 4 MB, a 100-sheet input tray that can hold a variety of paper types and an automatic document feeder for scanning and copying. The maximum resolution that can be reached with the HP R65 ink is 600x600 dpi, which should suffice for any standard office.
