The HP PSC 1210 ink printer is an AIO with a feature set that makes it suitable for home users. The machine measures 16.8 x 10.2 x 6.7 in and weighs 11 lbs. It has a small footprint and is compact in size. The machine prints, copies, and scans. It is capable of a 1000 impressions per month. A single input tray with a capacity for 100 sheets is part of the system. This AIO does not support automatic duplexing, does not have media card slots, or PictBridge support. The printer ink produces decent resolutions, though less impressive than printers with individual color tanks, such as Brother LC61M ink.
The HP 1210 ink cartridge printer ships with two ink cartridges - one HP 56 Black which is rated for around 450 pages and one HP 57 Tricolor cartridge that can deliver 400 pages, which is just less than Canon CLI-221Y ink. The HP 1210 inkjet cartridge device connects via a USB port; it does not offer networking functionality.
The PSC 1210 is a quiet machine and one in which the issue of paper jams occurs very rarely. The machine offers a maximum print speed of up to 12 ppm for monochrome and 10 ppm for color prints. The copier operates at similar speeds. Maximum print resolution this AIO offers is up to 600 x 600 dpi for monochrome and up to 4800 x 1200 dpi for color prints. The photo prints off the machine are good; the monochrome copies are better than what you would expect from an inexpensive printer. However; the machine is slow and does not measure up to other units with faster producing ink, such as HP 96 ink. A utilitarian image editing program and an OCR software are offered with the machine.
The simple one-button operations on the HP PSC 1210 inkjet AIO, its capability to work independently without being connected to a PC, its small size, good quality prints, decent copies, and average scans make it a good buy for the home user.
