The HP DeskJet Plus is a compact printer built for home users who only need to print black-and-white documents. Though this popular unit was discontinued back in 1990, it is still fairly easy to find and purchase from online sellers. For buyers looking for a photo printer or a high-end graphics printer, the lack of color printer ink and high resolutions probably make the Plus a poor choice. For moms and dads who print only a recipe or coupon here and there this Deskjet will be perfect.
To get up and printing, buyers will only need one HP Plus ink cartridge. This is a black printer ink that can hold about 790 pages worth of Deskjet Plus ink inside. At 790 pages, most users won't need to replace the printer ink too terribly often.
Though the page yield may be acceptable, the cost per page isn't. The cost per page using this HP Plus ink could put buyers back a pretty penny. That's why users should always use remanufactured Deskjet Plus ink cartridges from third party vendors instead of paying extra for the OEM product. Remanufactured inkjet tanks last just as long as genuine OEM ink and maintains the same high quality too. If buyers use remanufactured HP Plus ink, there's no way they won't stay within their budget.
As far as speeds go, this unit does not impress. Able to produce only 2 pages per minute, buyers will surely find themselves waiting for each and every print out to be produced. However, if only one or two pages are printed at a time, this won't be too much of an inconvenience. For those printing more than that, though, it won't seem very helpful. The highest resolution can only reach 300x300 dpi, which will make text documents look fine but will leave graphics looking grainy.
