The HP OfficeJet Pro K550 is an office printer made for small to medium sized office printing. One big downside to this inkjet unit is its lack of multiple functions that most standard small office printing units have, such as scanning, faxing and copying. For many, buying multiple machines that do one function is just fine. In this day and age though, most want one reliable machine that can do a plethora of different functions, as to save time, space and money. Though it has a monthly duty cycle of 7,500 pages, it probably won't be the most efficient addition.
There are four HP K550 ink cartridges used in this inkjet unit. Black, cyan, magenta and yellow are the colors of printer ink, and they all produce high resolutions. When printing in only black HP K550 ink, up to 37 pages per minute can be produced at a maximum resolution of 1200x1200 dpi. If printing in color, a resolution of 4800x1200 dpi can be reached while delivering as many as 33 pages per minute. These OfficeJet Pro K550 ink cartridges are a little more costly than many competing unit's printer ink tanks, but they do exert higher quality than some too.
Users tend to disagree on the K550. First of all, consumers find it loud and slow while others complain that it uses too much HP K550 ink, no matter what kind of document is being printed. Some also say replacement OfficeJet Pro K550 ink is also more expensive than some competitor's ink, even though remanufactured options are available for much less. Another common complaint is that the printheads often are not recognized, which causes the printer to stop working. However, there are consumers out there who have benefited greatly from the K550 and recommend it to others.
