The HP Deskjet F4400 is a wonderful at-home inkjet printer for personal users wanting to print, copy and scan. With the ability to produce about 3,000 pages every month it will both meet the needs of home office users, as well as surpass them. The F4400 will prove to be a versatile machine too, thanks to its ability to print on an array of media types like plain paper, inkjet paper, photo paper, transparencies, envelopes, cards, labels, iron-on transfers, premium media and borderless media alike. Sizes such as A4, A5, B5 and C6 are all supported as well. Though envelopes are supported, there is no sort of envelope feeder so all that are printed on must be done manually. Upon purchase 16 MB of memory are included, which sadly cannot be upgraded.
For color and black-and-white documents alike, two HP F4400 ink cartridges are needed. One is filled with black printer ink, while the other is a tricolor Deskjet F4400 ink tank. Cyan, magenta and yellow printer ink are all inside the tricolor tank.
High capacity versions and standard capacity versions of the Deskjet F4400 ink cartridges are available. The standard capacity color HP F4400 ink lasts about 165 pages, while the black ink lasts 440 pages. The black HP F4400 ink will last 200 pages for standard and 600 pages for high capacity tanks.
Speeds are decent for this machine, but there are faster speeds out there on the market. For black-and-white prints, up to 28 pages per minute can be produced, while color prints can be produced in about 22 pages per minute. Resolutions for these projects can reach as high as 4800x1200 dpi.
The scanner is a flatbed scanner able to reach 1200 dpi resolutions, and the copier is stellar too. It can produce up to 9 copies per each original document, and it reduces and enlarges documents from 25% to 200%.
