Though it doesn't offer faxing features, the HP Deskjet F390 offers just about everything else. Only low volume users will be able to work this inkjet unit, though. It has a small monthly duty cycle of only 700 pages. Made for home offices, it offers USB connection and Mac and Windows compatibility. Standard papers, such as envelopes, iron-on transfers and transparencies are all supported by the F390.
Black and tricolor HP F390 ink cartridges make up the inkjet unit's core. Using either tank of printer ink, resolutions of 4800x1200 dpi are possible. The copier can create 9 copies from an original document with the help of Deskjet F390 ink. Using fit-to-page features, HP F390 ink and digital image processing, the copier can work magic making resolutions of 600x2400 dpi possible. The ability to enlarge documents up to 400% will definitely make buyers happy.
The scanner, too, is pretty impressive. It uses Image Editor to make scanned documents look fresh and clean, and it can also turn scanned text into editable text. The resolution that is possible is 1200x2400 dpi for standard prints and 19200 dpi for enhanced prints. The only problem with the scanning function is that it can only scan documents up to 8.5x11 inches.
The Deskjet F390 definitely shows the importance of photo printing. It uses a third, optional Deskjet F390 ink cartridge that will create stunning, true-to-life photographs. These photos don't appear grainy; rather they look exceptional due to the photo printer ink. It also has the PictBridge connectivity option, which makes direct printing from a digital camera not only possible, but easy to do.
Though these tanks have very low page yields, do not fear. Remanufactured versions of the HP F390 ink are available from third party vendors. These tanks will exert the same high quality, but will cost a lot less than OEM tanks.
