The HP Deskjet F310 is a Windows and Mac compatible inkjet all-in-one unit has the ability to make small home office users happy. It can scan, copy and print documents, but it is limited to only 700 pages per month. With this low monthly capacity, users' needs may actually surpass the capabilities of this printer, meaning that high capacity home users should look somewhere else. It does offer USB and PIctBridge connections so photos can print directly from a camera. This thermal inkjet unit uses drop-on-demand technology, and for those who want something small, the F310 will do. It only weighs 10 pounds, and it has dimensions of 7x16.8x10.2 inches.

The printer uses two HP F310 ink cartridges—one full of black printer ink and the other full of color ink. About 20 pages per minute can be printed using black Deskjet F310 ink, while using color printer ink 14 pages per minute can be printed. Printing with black or color HP F310 ink, resolutions of 4800x1200 dpi can be obtained.

The copier can create up to 9 copies from an original with the help of the HP F310 ink, which for an all in one is somewhat disappointing. Fit-to-page functions and the ability to enhance images up to 400% of their original size make up for the small amount of copies, though. The scanner can create enhanced resolutions of up to 19200 dpi and standard resolutions of up to 1200x2400 dpi.

The problem with the Deskjet F310 ink cartridges are is that each tank has a very low page yield. The color ink yields only 165 pages, the black yields 190 pages and a third optional photo tank yields 130 pages. The photo tank is best for users who will print photos often but do not care about expensive ink costs.
