With no border, it takes just over 40 seconds to produce a 4x6 inch image. With borders, it takes just under 50 seconds. The two HP Deskjet D1445 ink cartridges—black and tricolor—are newly renovated to dry faster and prevent smudging. The two printer ink tanks back each other up when the D1445 is in "ink backup mode" so if one runs out, the other can cover for it.
Compatible with Windows and Mac, the HP D1445 connects via USB port, which quickens the time it takes to transfer images. Nozzles on the printheads are used to disperse the Deskjet D1445 ink in layers per inch of paper. The layers provide a more accurate and precise color scheme that is closer than ever to the original. The more dots per inch (dpi), the higher the resolution and the more realistic the photos. For a machine that is a couple years old, the technology within it is impressive.
