HP 1600 | 2600 Series Toner and Supplies

The HP 1600 printer is the same printer as the HP 2600n, and uses the same toner cartridges, but has fewer features. Unlike the HP 2600n, the HP 1600 is not network ready and can be connected only via USB. Further, the HP 1600 printer is compatible only with Windows-based PCs; the HP 2600n works with both PCs and Macs. Because both models use the same processor and memory, performance and toner cartridge print quality should be the same, so our assessment of those aspects of the HP 2600n stand for the HP 1600 as well. With its basic features and smaller price tag, the HP 1600 is better suited for home office environments, and the HP 2600n better suited for business workgroups. As for toner cartridge print quality, plain-text samples look great, with a crisp black that few color lasers achieve, and sharp, clean letters, even at 2-point size. HP 1600 and 2600n toner cartridges also print grayscale graphics well, with some blotchiness in areas but good detail, particularly on photos. The weakest area for HP 1600 and HP 2600 toner cartridge output is probably color graphics: gradients make abrupt transitions, solid colors can have odd mixtures of extra colors, and photos can come out unpleasantly dark and brown, even if they preserve detail well. Our compatible HP 1600 toner cartridges and HP 2600n toner cartridges are fully calibrated with HP OEM part numbers Q6001A = cyan, Q6003A = magenta, Q6002A = yellow, and Q6000A = black.
