Four HP LaserJet CM4540 toner cartridges are needed to print, and these are filled with cyan, yellow, magenta and black printer toner. When using the color or black HP CM4540 toner, buyers will be able to reach documents of as high as 600x600 dpi. With a HP CM4540 toner resolutions like that users will always have sophisticated, high quality results. These toners are also easy to find and easy to replace.

Many different paper types are supported too. Plain paper, light paper, bond paper, recycled paper, mid-weight paper, heavy paper and glossy are just a few of the supported types. There are also some special medias supported, like transparencies, labels, envelopes, letterheads, preprinted, colored, pre-punched, rough and opaque film. There are multiple input trays, each able to hold 500 sheets of paper, and one 500-sheet output tray is also included. There is also a 100-page automatic document feeder.

The laser unit comes standard with 1280 MB of memory, and is compatible with Windows, Novell, UNIX, Citrix, Mac and Linux operating systems. USB and ethernet connections are both offered.
