The HP Color LaserJet CM2320 is a multifunction device based around a color laser printing engine. It is geared toward small and medium office environments who wish to replace multiple machines with a single machine that supports print, fax, scan, and copy functions.
While the unit has the usual expected features for a multifunction device, it also includes some handy extra features, such as scan-to-email, which allows users to scan documents and have the unit email them directly to an email address. Memory card slots are included, which allow users to access and print documents and photos directly from a memory card without the need for a computer.
Print quality is excellent with sharp text and better than expected color printing. HP boasts "print-shop quality" marketing materials from the CM2320, and while the color quality may not be quite "print-shop quality", it is better than most color laser printers, like the HP 1600 toner printer.
Print speeds are very quick, at 21 pages per minute. The unit also features HP"s "Instant On" technology, which allows the CM2320 to send out a first page very quickly, even in sleep or power-saving mode.
Scanning can be done at a resolution up to 1200 dpi, though most users will not need scans exceeding 300 or 400 dpi. The scanning driver included with the unit allows importing directly into applications such as Photoshop, or you can use the aforementioned scan-to-email feature. Scans can also be saved to a memory card using the memory card slots on the HP CM2320. Along with the flatbed scanner, the unit also features a 50-sheet automatic document feeder for scanning multiple pages at once. Both the flatbed scanner and the automatic document feeder can be used for copying as well.
Overall, the HP Color LaserJet CM2320 is an excellent multifunction device with the quality you would expect from HP. Convenience features such as memory card slots and the scan-to-email function add value to an already impressive machine.
