Primarily using only two HP C5270 ink cartridges for the majority of printing, it creates brilliant images and crisp, clean text. In addition to printing, this unit can scan or copy with high quality. The scanner is a flatbed that has a 48-bit color depth, and it can reach resolutions of 4800 dpi. The copier can create up to 50 duplicates from an original document, while still maintaining a maximum resolution of 4800x1200 dpi, using either black or color HP C5270 ink.

The two needed printer ink tanks are black and tricolor—cyan, magenta and yellow. With the help of the black Photosmart C5270 ink, about 32 pages per minute can copied or printed. When using color, about 24 pages per minute can be copied or printed. The additional, optional HP C5270 ink tanks are photo color and photo gray. These two printer ink tanks are mostly used for heavy graphics printing or photo printing and are not needed for the average home user intending on printing limited photographs.

User reviews of this product, however, are somewhat mixed. While some find this to be the perfect at-home inkjet unit, some find it to be an expensive and un-needed addition to the home. Over all though, most agree that its results are always of high quality and better than expected.
