The HP Photosmart C4440 is a great all-in-one inkjet unit that can offer users almost everything needed in a home office. With a monthly duty cycle of 3000 pages, it can print more than enough for most users, and it will print on most media types like plain paper, legal paper, cards, envelopes, transparencies, labels and photo paper. Windows and Mac compatible, it has a USB and memory card slots for connective options.

It needs two HP C4440 ink cartridges—one black and one tricolor. The black Photosmart C4440 ink prints with resolutions of 1200x1200 dpi and the color prints with resolutions of 4800x1200 dpi. It also features drop-on-demand technology, which uses nozzles to eject small dots of the printer ink. The black Photosmart C4440 ink cartridge yields 200 pages, and the color yields 170 pages. Though these won't last for too long, high capacity versions are also available. These will yield 520 pages and 750 pages for color and black, respectively.

The copier uses digital image processing and HP C4440 ink to create resolutions of 4800x4800 dpi. Documents can be enlarged 200-400%, and they can be reduced 25-50%. The downside is that only 9 copies can be made from an original. Though this could slow some down, most homes won't need much more than that. The inkjet scanner is impressive as well, changing scanned text to editable text on the spot.

Though HP C4440 ink tanks aren't expensive, they won't last very long which could lead users to spend more on ink than they would like. The best solution for this is to buy remanufactured ink from third party vendors for only a fraction of the price. These printer ink tanks work just as well as the OEM versions and exert the same high qualities. The HP C4440 is a great buy, and these tanks only make it more affordable.
