Scanning, printing and copying on 4x6, letter, executive, panorama and legal sized paper, this thermal inkjet unit will be more than enough for your at-home needs. It is very versatile because it is compatible with plain paper, inkjet paper, photo paper, envelopes, labels, index cards, transparencies and iron-on transfers. It has a memory of 32 MB and uses USB connection. The upfront price and cost of printer ink will save buyers money.

Black and tricolor Photosmart C4210 ink cartridges are needed to run this machine, and optional photo printer ink is available. Using black HP C4210 ink, the highest possible resolution is 1200 dpi, and using color the max resolution is 4800x1200 dpi. These black and color ink tanks can print up to 30 pages per minute and 23 pages per minute, respectively.

The flatbed scanner has a 48-bit color depth and can obtain enhanced resolutions as high as 19200 dpi—the standard resolution is 1200x2400 dpi. The maximum sized document that can be scanned, though, is only 8.5x11.7 inches. The copier has rates of 24 pages per minute for color copying and 30 pages per minute with black HP C4210 ink. The copier's resolutions are 600 dpi using color Photosmart C4210 ink and 4800x1200 dpi for black copies.

This all in one has a duty cycle each month of 1,000 pages, and it is conveniently Windows or Mac compatible. It will also fit nicely in most home office spaces with its small size of only 17.09x11.42x6.38 inches. It is also easy enough for one person to move on their own, weighing only 11 pounds.

The only problem with this unit is that its HP C4210 ink cartridges are low yielding, however, high capacity versions can be purchased that will last longer.
