Printing and copying up to 30 pages per minute using black HP C4100 ink and 24 pages per minute with color, this thermal inkjet unit will stand up to the competition. It offers a 3,000 page monthly duty cycle, Windows and Mac compatibility and 32 MB of memory, making it a great fit for the home office. Not to mention its small size of 17.4x11.4x6.4 inches that will fit nearly anywhere. It also only weighs 12 pounds, making it easy for anyone to maneuver.

Black and tricolor (cyan, magenta and yellow) HP Photosmart C4100 ink cartridges are both needed for standard prints, and optional photo gray and photo color printer ink tanks are available as well. The black HP C4100 ink—when printing or copying—can produce resolutions of 1200 dpi. The resolution using color ink can reach an even higher 4800x1200 dpi. The scanner can obtain a standard resolution of 2400x4800 dpi and an enhanced resolution of 19200 dpi.

These HP C4100 ink cartridges have decent yields, but not high compared to other tanks on the market. The black printer ink can yield 420 pages, while the tricolor comes in two sizes yielding 220 pages or 330 pages. The photo color and photo gray yield 130 pages and 80 pages, respectively. These are a little pricey, but remanufactured versions of Photosmart C4100 ink tanks can be purchased from third party vendors for a significantly lower price.

There a few additional, notable features this unit has. It can connect via USB, and it has 4 memory card slots for direct printing. Most standard papers are also compatible, such as plain, inkjet, envelope, photo, label, iron-on transfer, card and photo. All around, there are not too many downsides when it comes to the C4100.
