The HP Deskjet 930 is a single-purpose inkjet unit with decent speeds and above average resolutions. For a machine released a few years ago, it can still compete with a lot of color printers on the market. Most small businesses would prefer a printer that also has the capability to scan, copy and fax as well as produce professional-quality graphics. But for home users, the 930 has the basic features that most people require.
Printing up to 9 pages per minute using black HP 930 ink, and a little over 7 pages per minute in color, this device is relatively efficient and accurate. There are more current models that can knock out as many as 40 pages in a minute, but sometimes speed takes away from quality. The Deskjet 930 ink can produce resolutions of up to 600x600 dpi in black and 2400x1200 dpi ink color.
Simple to maintain and affordable to replace, the two HP 930 ink cartridges are small and easily installed. One consists of black ink while the other holds cyan, yellow and magenta. Using PhotoREt II and drop-on-demand technology, small dots of printer ink are ejected from Deskjet 930 ink cartridges through nozzles and applied to the page in layers.
Compatible with Windows and Mac, the 930 comes with 4 MB of RAM and has a 2,000 page duty cycle. It is capable of printing on various types of paper, such as letter, envelopes, transparencies, labels and index cards.
