The HP 9000 laser printer is built from the ground up to support a large number of users, and it also has the expansion options to fit a wide variety of needs. It has a large standard paper capacity of 1,000 sheets, divided among two 500 sheets trays. The paper capacity can be expanded to a maximum of 3,100 sheets, including the option for a multipurpose tray for additional paper types and sizes. The unit supports multiple sizes of media up to wide format 11 by 17 inch media.Its initial 64 MB of RAM can also be expanded to a maximum of 348 MB if needed.
The unit connects via parallel port directly, but a number of connectivity options are available as upgrades. The unit can easily support ethernet and even wireless 802.11b networking with one of many Jetdirect upgrades available.
There are multiple configurations available, but all share the same basic design. The 9000n model includes networking, and the 9000dn includes networking and duplexing. Other models in the line include the 9000l, 9000hns, 9000mfp, and 9000lmfp.
