The HP Photosmart 8049 is a photo inkjet printer built with personal users in mind. Weighing a light 9.3 pounds, the unit is as mobile and the person using it—buyers will be able to take it nearly anywhere. The size of only 18.3x9.1x6.2 inches makes it a comfortable fit in any environment too. Using thermal inkjet technology this machine can create high quality photos, graphics and text documents alike. For operation, maintaining for HP 8049 ink cartridges is imperative. While two are standard—black and tricolor—two additional tanks of printer ink are used too. These are filled with color photo and color gray Photosmart 8049 ink. With the use of the special HP 8049 ink, buyers will have the ability to create lab-quality photos easily. However, these will take quite a long time to actually be produced. For those who have time to space, the 4800x1200 dpi printer ink resolutions may just be worth the wait.
The best thing about the inkjet machine though is its versatility. Though it can print when connected to a computer, it also offers direct printing via PictBridge, which means buyers can print directly from their cameras. There are also direct printing options via a number of memory cards like Memory Stick varieties, Compact Flash and MultiMediaCards. Many types of media are also supported, like labels, greeting cards, transparencies, index cards, photo paper, envelopes and iron-on transfers.
