There are three HP 7450 ink cartridges, though only two of them come standard with this printer. The two standard printer ink tanks are black and tricolor. Using the black Photosmart 7450 ink, up to 18 pages per minute can be printed at a resolution of 600x600 dpi. The tricolor HP 7450 ink can reach a maximum resolution of 2400x1200 dpi and produce up to 14 pages per minute. The optional third Photosmart 7450 ink cartridge is specifically for photo printing and can only print 12 pages in a minute.
Intended for low-volume printing, the page yields of the HP 7450 ink are smaller than units intended for office use. However, replacement printer ink is available from HP or from third party vendors. The third parties sell remanufactured tanks which are guaranteed to provide the same resolution as the OEM product, just at a much more affordable price.
