Maximum speeds in draft mode are up to 22 pages with slightly reduced image quality, but this also helps reduce the amount of HP 6515 printer ink used.

One of the main improvements of the 6515 compared to series like the 5510 is the inclusion of a larger touchscreen interface. Since this screen is the center of most operations for the user, and is such an impressive aspect, it makes sense to expand it to 3.45 inches. This allows a clearer view of the intuitive interface, and better access to things like copy and scan options and Photosmart 6515 ink levels. Smartphone and tablet users will also find multiple methods of printing from their devices.

The unit can scan photos and documents at an interpolated resolution of up to 19,200 dpi, but its optical scanning is limited to 1200 dpi, which still provides sharp results. Up to 50 copies can be made at one time, though copying is limited to 600 dpi.

PC World reviewed the 6510 series, praising its sharp output quality and sleek design. They found the lack of an automatic document feeder limiting, however. They also like the savings in cost per page of the high-capacity Photosmart 6515 ink cartridges. For those users who still find the costs high, they can choose compatible HP 6515 printer ink cartridges at a reduced price.

The HP 6515 is one of the most affordable multifunction inkjet models on the market, but still provides extra features not found in some of the competition. The addition of wireless support and ePrint technology for communicating with mobile devices adds a lot of value, and the affordability of HP 6515 ink keeps costs from getting out of control.
