Have minimal printing needs and want a cheap printer to reflect that? The HP Deskjet 630 could be the way to go then. With slower than normal speeds, no wireless connectivity and low resolutions, the 630 is simple and unexciting. It is best suited in a home where quality of documents doesn't necessarily matter—perhaps a high school student printing homework assignments or the coupon clipper who just needs to print a barcode. An amateur photographer would probably find it to be a nightmare, producing decent photos at best using HP 630 ink and costing much more than it's worth in the long run.
This inkjet model wouldn't fit in a home office where speed is a deal-breaker either. Printing only 2.5 pages per minute using color printer ink and 5 pages per minute using black, printing more than one page will be a time-taking hassle instead of a quick and easy luxury. Its weight of 15 pounds and its footprint of 7.9x17.2x16 inches won't be as convenient to move around as others on the market. The Deskjet 630 inkjet printer is compatible with Windows operating systems only.
Only two HP 630 ink cartridges are needed with this product. One is tricolor and has a resolution of 600x600 dpi. The black Deskjet 630 ink cartridge has a resolution of 600x300 dpi. Though these resolutions are in no way impressive, they will get the job done—if the job is all text printing or documents with few graphics. It can print on most media types—like transparencies, envelopes, labels and most sizes and types of media paper. There is a maximum sheet capacity of only 100 pages.
User reviews, for the most part, agree that the HP 630 is just an okay printer. Many hate that it constantly causes paper jams and that the cost of HP 630 ink is high. The quality of the printer ink is also a concern for many. It isn't very reliable, but it doesn't break the bank.
