Looking for a digital copier printer for a small business or home office? The HP 610 could be a viable option. With a 5,000 page monthly duty cycle and the ability to copy up to 99 copies from an original document, this could fit the needs of a small office quite well. Using black HP 610 ink, it has average print speeds printing up to 19 pages per minute and copying up to 18 pages per minute in fast mode. Using color printer ink, the speeds are 16 in both cases.
Windows operating systems are compatible with this inkjet unit, and Macs are not. Able to print and copy on many media types—including sheet paper, envelopes, banners, labels, transparencies and cards—the HP 610 is quite versatile. It comes standard with a 30.8 pound weight. However, if an optional automatic document feeder (ADF) and two sided printing accessory is attached the weight comes up to 32.4 pounds, and with those additions as well as the 250 sheet paper tray it will weigh 34.4 pounds. The standard dimensions are 13.3x21.85x16.3 inches.
One black and one tricolor HP 610 ink cartridge are needed to work this machine. The black printer ink has a yield of 800 and the tricolor has a yield of 470. The maximum resolutions for color and black are 1200x600 dpi. Though the OEM versions of the HP 610 ink cartridges are rather expensive, third party vendors' remanufactured and compatible tanks can be purchased for a fraction of the price—most times exerting the same yields and resolutions as the OEM products.
Users of the 610 have both positive and negative opinions. One of the biggest complaints about this inkjet unit is its loud, boisterous noise when in use. Another complaint is that the HP 610 ink is too expensive. The biggest issue seems to be multiple accusations that the machine simply stops working after a year or so of usage. However, many praise the device all around for its features and quality.
