There are a lot of options out there for office-friendly devices. Whether your work space is in need of a scanner, copier, fax machine or just a standard printer, the HP OfficeJet 5600 can do it. What is the point in having four different machines when this all-in-one inkjet printer can produce equally good results? The only thing that may make businesses stray from the 5600 is the lack of wireless capabilities.
Upon purchase, HP includes a lot of things in the box. Buyers will receive a phone, a power cord and power supply. They will be provided with a few software programs and set up guides to help first time users easily understand the process of getting the printer started. Also provided are two HP 5600 ink cartridges. These are black and tricolor, which has 3 different kinds of printer ink in it.
Not provided is an optional photo OfficeJet 5600 ink cartridge. This tank is only to be used when printing photos, and really is only necessary for completely professional pictures. The black HP 5600 ink has a maximum resolution of 1200x1200 dpi. The color can reach 4800x1200 dpi. The scanner produces at a resolution of 1200x2400 dpi and has a 48-bit color depth, which holds millions of colors. The fax can obtain 200x200 dpi and has a transmission speed of 3 seconds per page.
The copy machine and printer can produce at the same speed, which are 20 pages per minute using black HP 5600 ink and 13 pages per minute in color. The inkjet device itself has a monthly duty cycle of 1,500 pages per month. So, if printing at normal volumes, replacement printer ink will not be necessarily that expensive. These features prove the 5600 is a solid and low-maintenance unit.

Bringing copying, scanning, printing, and faxing functions to the home office, the HP OfficeJet 5600 is an impressive device at an affordable price. Its compact design will fit easily into smaller spaces, though its 100-sheet paper tray may be limiting for busy users.
Turn the printer on if it isn’t already, then open the access door on the front right side of the printer. The carriage will move into sight automatically to give you access to the cartridges.
Note that the black or photo cartridge will be on the right, and the color cartridge is on the left. Press down on the HP 5600 ink cartridge to unlock it, then slide it out toward you to remove it.
Prepare your new OfficeJet 5600 ink cartridge for installation by removing from the box and removing the bag. Pinch the handles on the plastic protector together to pry it away from the cartridge, then remove the tape strip at the bottom.
Align the new cartridge and slide it back into the opening. Press firmly until the 5600 cartridge locks upward into place, then close the access door.
You are now ready to resume printing with your HP OfficeJet 5600 printer.
