The HP Deskjet 3651 is a color inkjet printer that has decent speeds and decent quality for an affordable price. With a monthly duty cycle of around 1,000 pages, it will most likely only work well in a small or home office. It connects via USB and is both Windows and Mac compatible. Medias such as plain paper, photo paper, envelopes, transparencies, labels, cards and iron-on transfers all work exceptionally well with this machine, and only two HP 3651 ink cartridges are needed for standard prints.
A black and a tricolor Deskjet 3651 ink cartridge are used in this compact unit. The black can yield 220 pages per tank, while the tricolor HP 3651 ink tank only yields 190 pages. Using only black printer ink, resolutions of around 1200 dpi can be reached. Using color, a resolution of 4800 dpi is possible. The tricolor tank is full of cyan, magenta and yellow printer ink.
For those who plan on doing a lot of picture printing, a third photo HP 3651 ink tank is available, but optional. This tank can yield only 140 pages. It contains light cyan, light magenta and black ink and must replace the black-only tank to be used. Though switching out Deskjet 3651 ink may seem like an annoyance, it is quite simple and shouldn't be a hindrance to anyone.
None of these tanks will get buyers very far, meaning users will have to buy ink a lot more frequently than they would probably like. This could get expensive, however, remanufactured versions of the HP 3651 ink are available. These can be purchased from third party vendors, and remanufactured options tend to have the same page yields as the OEM versions, but they cost only a fraction of the price. With these, any inkjet unit becomes instantly affordable.
