Need a compact digital color copier for the home or small office? If needing only minimal copying the HP 310 could be worth considering. For offices needing maximum copying capacity, however, this inkjet model probably won't suffice - its slower-than-average speeds will likely halt production of documents. Compatible with Windows and Mac, the 310 will fit in nicely no matter what operating system is used. Weighing 21 pounds and measuring 10.7x17.8x14.1 inches this machine will fit almost anywhere in the office, taking up very little room.
Only two HP 310 ink cartridges are needed to operate this machine - one contains black printer ink and the other is tricolor, containing cyan, yellow and magenta. With yield of 450 pages for color and 500 for black these tanks won't last too long, and HP 310 ink cartridges aren't the most affordable on the market. Depending on how often this unit is used, the printer ink could become an expense quickly. Though Xerox 108R00727 ink is more expensive, it provides a lower cost per page. The 310 speeds are slow, copying only 12 copies per minute in monochrome and 9 copies per minute in color.
The black HP 310 ink prints with a resolution of 600x600 dpi, and the color ink has a resolution of 1200x1200 dpi. Though these are fairly decent resolutions, newer products on the market can offer higher ones, such as Epson T069320 ink. It can, however, reduce or enlarge documents from 25% to 400%, which is pretty standard of most copiers. Only plain paper and transparencies are compatible, making this little machine quite limited.
This inkjet copier is a little outdated and doesn't produce as many documents as most will need in an office environment. For a little bit more money, buyers could purchase an all in one with faster speeds, higher resolutions and better quality.
