Designed to be a personal printer or used in a home office, the HP Deskjet 3054 is reliable and efficient. The compact size of 9.8x16.81x16 and light weight of 8 pounds make this inkjet unit simple to install and able to fit on any small desk or table. Not only can the 3054 print crisp and clear documents, but it can also make copies and scan documents into files. The multiple functions are ideal for users performing work related tasks at home.

The flatbed scan surface allows users to copy or scan thick documents, such as textbooks. The scanner has a deep color depth and scan documents at a resolution of 1200 dpi. The copier can make multiple copies from a single document and provides users with the ability to resize the images that are being replicated. There are no faxing capabilities, which should not be an issue in a home office environment.

Two HP 3054 ink cartridges are used in this unit during operation. The standard black printer ink will last for as many as 200 prints before needing to be replaced and the color HP 3054 ink will last for about 165 prints. However, high-capacity Deskjet 3054 ink cartridges are also available which can last 440 pages for color and 600 pages for black. The cyan, yellow and magenta HP 3054 ink is all held in the same tank while the black printer ink is separate.

The input tray can hold 60 sheets and the output tray can hold 25 sheets, clearly not intended to handle large jobs. After all, it has a monthly duty cycle of only 1,000 prints. Networking is not an option, but wireless capabilities are available. The Deskjet 3054 ink can create a maximum resolution of 4800x1200 dpi, but the speed maxes out at about 5 pages per minute.
