The HP Deskjet 1055 has built-in all-in-one features and a monthly duty cycle of up to 1,000 prints. The maximum monthly duty cycle makes the printer ideal for personal use. The unit has a compact size of only 16x16x9 inches and a light weight of less than 8 pounds that will allow it to sit comfortably on any desktop. The unit is able to support media like iron-on transfers, labels, cards, envelopes, transparencies and photo paper. Media handling options include a 60-sheet input capacity and 25-sheet output capacity.

The 1055's print, scan and copy functions are capable of producing professional-quality documents. The print feature uses thermal inkjet technology and HP 1055 ink to produce projects with sharp resolutions. Color documents and images print with a maximum resolution of 4800x1200 dpi using color printer ink, while black-and-white pages print with crisp resolution of 600 dpi using black Deskjet 1055 ink. The scanner can scan full-color and black-and-white documents with an internal resolution of up to 1200x1200 dpi.

The manufacturer provides two starter HP 1055 ink cartridges including one black and one tricolor that will allow users to start printing as soon as the machine is installed. The black Deskjet 1055 ink cartridge has a yield of around 190 pages, while the color printer ink can print 165 pages.

The 1055 can produce documents at rates of only around 12 pages per minute. It comes with a high-speed USB connective option and is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems. With a small size and a minimal operating noise, users will hardly know the inkjet device is there. This inkjet printer has average output rates, a low monthly duty cycle and low-yielding HP 1055 ink, all of which make it most suitable for users printing at home.
