The shining feature of the Epson Expression Home XP-410 "small-in-one" inkjet printer might just be its low price, especially given that it can print, copy, and scan photos and documents at such a low price point. It has a lot more to offer, however, with wireless and mobile printing support, and ISO speeds of up to 8.7 pages per minute. Epson XP-410 printer ink prices are reasonable, but other models in its class offer a lower cost per page.
The XP-410 has a larger display than the similar XP-310 model, and a touch panel instead of physical buttons. This makes it feel quite futuristic, though some users might miss the tactile feedback. The unit takes up very little space, measuring 5.7x15.4x11.8 inches. It is also very light, at around 9 pounds, even with the four Expression Home XP-410 ink cartridges installed.
One of the criticisms from otherwise positive reviews is that the machine lacks an ethernet port, though it supports Wi-Fi networking instead. Included in its wireless features is support for Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, and Epson's own Connect app and service for mobile printing. This makes printing from almost any mobile device a cinch.
Another minor criticism is the unit's lack of an automatic document feeder, with only a flatbed scanning surface available. This is hardly surprising, given the price, however, as is the small 100-sheet input paper tray.
As with all inkjet printers, comparing printer ink costs is important. Epson XP-410 ink is fairly affordable on this front, but not the most cost-effective in its category. Each color Epson XP-410 ink cartridge provides around 165 pages, with the black rated at just 175 pages.
The XP-410 holds its own against other models in its category, and its mobile printing options are impressive. It doesn't consume a lot of space, and users will be pretty happy with the cost of Expression Home XP-410 ink.
