The Epson Aculaser C1100 color laser printer uses a separate carousel for each of its four toner cartridges and has a fixed imaging drum, like the HP 1500 toner printer. The drum should last for about 42,000 pages but is a bit expensive to replace. Keep in mind that the more color you use the lower this number will be as color is more demanding than monochrome on an imaging drum. Imaging quality can be boosted from 600 dpi to an enhanced 2400 dpi setting via a Resolution Improvement Technology or RIT. Text is presented well and crisp in the default setting, but will be presented in higher clarity on the enhanced setting.
The Epson C1100 color laser printer is priced a little higher than some of its competition but the high quality and super fast printing is worth it. Speeds for black and white documents are in the neighborhood of 25 pages per minute and out in less than 9 seconds; your single page color documents and photos will be printed in about 18 seconds. An ethernet interface is standard on some models and extra on the base model should you decide to add it later on. The unit is equipped with parallel and USB 2.0 ports standard.
Epson Aculaser C1100 toner cartridges have a high capacity of 4,000 pages per laser toner cartridge.
