The Dell P1500 is a personal monochrome laser printer. The printer is priced well at less than $300.00 and provides great text printing for the home or home office. Graphics are displayed less than perfect, so if you plan on using a lot of or printing a lot of graphics you may wish to reconsider
Two control buttons and several LED lights adorn the top of the machine. The LEDS indicate various statuses such as ready status, paper tray status, and toner indicators. Both the input and output are located atop the unit for convenience and ease of use. The Dell P1500 laser printer comes with USB and parallel connections but no cords. They will happily sell you those at the time of purchase.
Dell P1500 toner cartridges have a capacity of 6,000 pages per cartridge. This is a good capacity for owners who are intending on using the printer for a home or small office. Printing costs can be reduced by purchasing the Dell P1500 toner cartridges at a third party dealer.
Set up time is quite honestly blazing fast. It takes no longer than 5 minutes to set up the printer; simply plug in the printer and connect it to the computer. One of the most complete user’s guides on the market is included giving you reassurance should something not work. Unfortunately the Dell P1500 does not support Mac environments, and only Windows 98 or newer. Resolution is at 600 by 600 dpi, as with most personal monochrome laser printers, and prints at speeds close to 19 pages per minute, your results will vary depending upon usage and paper type.
