The unit uses a single black laser toner cartridge. The printer toner cartridge replacements have a more reasonable capacity of 5,000 pages. To lower costs per page, the user can choose to purchase compatible toner cartridges at third-party resellers.
Overall, the Dell 1815dn can print at speeds up to 27 pages per minute at true 120 dpi resolution. Text is produced well and shows little signs of dithering.
