The Dell 1100 personal laser printer and the 1110 small business laser printer use the same toner technology. Small and easy to install dry Dell toner is used to provide the black and monochrome prints to your home or small office. The Dell 1100 is far more suited to the home or college student as it has an open input paper tray, but the output tray is located on top.
Small and light weight at 12 pounds it is easily moved form place to place much as a college student lives. The printer has speeds of up to 15 pages per minute and text rendering much as you would expect from a personal laser printer, good quality graphics and text but not over the top.
The Dell 1110 monochrome laser printer prints at 17 pages per minute and has an input of 150 sheets without the optional trays. This printer too weighs about 12 pounds making it easy to fit into any small home office. Great deep black text is produced using the Dell 1110 series and handles a decent amount of paper sizes. Although the printer is built to perform well, it is not suited to high volume printing and complex print jobs.
Both the 1100 and Dell 1110 series printers have 150 MHz processors and 2 MB of nonexpendable memory attributing to the great handling of text and graphics in such a small package. Unfortunately, neither of these printers have network capabilities but have fast USB connections for plug and play setup.
