The Canon PIXMA iP2500 is a compact inkjet printer with a focus on lab-quality photo output, taking up very little space in a home environment. It can handle standard documents as well, at up to 22 pages per minute in black and 16 pages per minute in color, and Canon iP2500 printer ink supplies are both easy to replace and affordable.
The iP2500 is extremely compact, at only 6x17.4x9.3 inches, and it's even smaller when the trays are folded up when it is not in use. It is also light enough to pick up and move out of the way, weighing only 7.3 pounds when the PIXMA iP2500 ink is installed. The input tray holds a maximum of 100 sheets, and although the unit doesn't support automatic duplexing, it does support manual two-sided printing.
Connection options are somewhat limited, with only a single USB 2.0 port available. It does support both Windows and Mac operating systems, however, providing some flexibility in that regard. The maximum resolution for photos is 4800x1200 dpi, helping it produce images that are on par with the local photo lab, and lower costs for Canon iP2500 printer ink will make it more affordable as well.
There are two Canon iP2500 ink cartridges used by the inkjet system: one black and one tricolor. The black supply can yield around 195 pages, while the tricolor PIXMA iP2500 will yield around 100 pages. These small yields may be a bit disappointing to users who planned to do higher volumes of printing, however.
The iP2500 is an impressive photo printer given its size and price. It excels at producing sharp photos without consuming a lot of space, but its small capacities could be a detriment to busy users, who will end up replacing supplies more often than they might like.
