MX7600
Usually Canon produces impressive printers that owners go crazy over. However, in the case of the Canon Pixma MX7600 inkjet printer, it's just making people crazy. Though this is marketed as an all-in-one, faxing, scanning, copying and printing are tedious and frustrating while using the printer. Known for its paper jams, noisy nature and confusing usage, it offers very little to a small office environment other than stressful headaches and daily maintenance.
The Canon MX7600 inkjet printer costs much more than it's worth at around $400. Making a large footprint, it weighs 36.6 pounds and has dimensions of 21x19.7x10.1 inches. It is said to print 28 pages per minute using black printer ink and 23 pages per minute using color. However, users find that to be an exaggeration—most say it is much slower than that. It is compatible with Windows and Mac.
Six Canon MX7600 ink cartridges are included in the box—the standard black, pigment black, magenta, yellow and cyan as well as the unique clear printer ink. Though having six Pixma MX7600 ink cartridges sounds like a convenient thing, it really isn't with this model. If the buyer were to run out of magenta and try printing black and white using the black ink, it wouldn't work. If one tank of Canon MX700 ink goes out, all the cartridges are useless until it has been refilled. This is a major drawback to most who own the printer. Even worse, the Pixma MX7600 ink is extremely rare and hard to find—not to mention expensive.
According to user reviews, buying the MX7600 would be a huge mistake. Most find it to be slow, heavy, annoying and of poor quality. The amount of noise it makes when not in usage is also a nuisance to some, and the amount of paper jams to be completely ridiculous. The biggest complaint had to do with Canon MX7600 ink. Locating it is nearly impossible and it is much more expensive than other inks of the same resolution and yield. The only good thing people could say about it was that it looked nice sitting on a desk, and even then people were still skeptical. One user referred to it as a "useless piece of junk" while another described it as "failing miserably as an all-in-one". With that said, maybe a better name for this model would have been the all-in-none.
