When it comes to personal inkjet printers, there are few better manufacturers than Canon. Not only do they make the most compact and useful machines, they find a way to keep the price tag affordable. For less than $100, the Canon Pixma MX410 will be an important addition to any home or small office. It has the ability to print, scan, copy and fax in color or black-and-white. For a machine that has so many functions, the compact size of 18.1x16.4x7.8 inches is surprisingly impressive, and its light weight of 18.9 pounds makes it simple for any standard user to move around.
There are two Canon MX410 ink cartridges that are used during operation—one contains black printer ink only, while the other holds cyan, magenta and yellow. The standard capacity black Pixma MX410 ink cartridge has a page yield of 220 pages, while the color can print up to 244 pages before expiring. If this is not enough to handle the volume of printing, high capacity options are available. The higher capacity tricolor Canon MX410 ink cartridge can print as many as 349 pages, while the black has a maximum yield of 401 prints.
The fax machine uses a Super G3 high speed connection that allows faxes to be sent and received within a few seconds. The scanner can reach an interpolated resolution of 1200x2400 dpi, while the Pixma MX410 ink produces copies and prints that have a resolution of 4800x1200 dpi. The high quality capabilities allow users to print lab-quality photos, as well as web shots, and even captured movie clips.
This unit is connected via USB 2.0 and also offers wireless connection. A PictBridge port allows direct printing from digital cameras, and the MX410 can also print from an iPAD, iPhone, iPod and Android applications. Replacement printer ink is available online from the manufacturer and third party vendors sell remanufactured Canon MX410 ink to keep maintenance affordable.

The Canon PIXMA MX410 includes wireless sharing capabilities, and is a true all-in-one inkjet printer that can print, scan, copy, and fax. It features a 30-sheet automatic document feeder for quick copying and scanning, and has a Full HD Movie Print feature to print still frames from video when using compatible cameras.
Open the printer’s paper tray, then lift up from the opening below the scanning lid. Make sure the lever slides into place to prop up the top of the printer.
After a few moments, the carriage for the PIXMA MX410 ink cartridges will slide into view. Notice that the cover for the black cartridge is marked B and the color cartridge is marked C. Pinch the two handles together to open the cover and lift it out of the way, then grab the small handle on the cartridge to lift it out.
Prepare the new Canon MX410 ink cartridge by removing it from the box and removing the plastic bag. If your cartridge has a tape strip, grasp it and pull to remove it. If it comes with a plastic cover, pinch the top and bottom handles together to gently pry it off.
Slide the new MX410 cartridge into the opening and close the cover. Make sure you feel it snap closed, but do not force it.
Lift up the printer’s top lid about an inch, then push the back lever backward slightly, then lower the cover as the lever folds inward. Close the cover gently to avoid any damage.
You are now ready to resume printing with your Canon PIXMA MX410 printer.
