The Canon Pixma MX340 is an inkjet printer that can copy, scan, fax and print altogether. Using only four Pixma MX340 ink cartridges it can create high quality text and graphics documents. The printer ink is easy to find and easy to replace, and the Canon MX340 ink comes new or remanufactured from several vendors. Weighing a mere 19 pounds, it will be portable for those who need printing on the go, making it not only efficient but convenient too.
When it comes to this Pixma, most of the reviews are pretty positive. First of all, users love how high the quality of the finished products are, and most say photo documents print out just as good as text documents, which is great for an inkjet machine. The wireless printing feature is a definite upside, because many printers don't offer this option. Quiet operation is one of the highest rated features, and the low upfront price and cost of replacement Canon MX340 ink cartridges make owning this machine affordable. Not only is maintaining the unit simple, but setting it up is a breeze too. Most won't have any trouble doing this. The Pixma MX340 ink also provides professional-quality prints.
One complaint across the board, though, is that all buyers will have to go to the store or the web to purchase hookup cords before the machine can get started. Another problem is obviously its slow speeds. The fastest it can operate in black-and-white is 8 pages per minute, and when using color Canon MX340 ink, it can only produce 4 pages per minute. Not only is this slow for an inkjet printer, but it is slow all around. For those who print only on rare occasions or have only light print jobs it should work just fine, but for those who print a lot it may not be the right printer.

Canon PIXMA MX340 Instructional Video Transcript
The Canon PIXMA MX340 is similar to other models in its line, but has the added convenience of wireless networking support. It has an LCD screen for menu navigation and to alert users when MX340 ink cartridges are low, and it even features a front-mounted USB port for connecting a flash drive.
Although the model shown differs slightly in its appearance, the replacement process for cartridges is the same.
Make sure the device is on and the paper tray is open before you begin, then open up the top section of the device by placing your hand into the paper tray opening and lifting upward. A lever will slide forward to hold the top section in place.
The cartridge covers slide into place automatically, and you can choose either the B for black or C for color, depending on which of the Canon MX340 ink cartridges you need to replace. Grab the two small handles and pinch them together to unsnap and lift the cover. Then, simply grab the small handle on the cartridge and pull it out.
Open the box of the new PIXMA MX340 ink cartridge and remove it from the bag as well. If your cartridge comes with a tape strip, pull on it gently until it comes off. If it includes a protective plastic cover, you will need to pinch the handles on the top and bottom.
With the cartridge slot still open, insert the new Canon MX340 cartridge, pressing it down and into place without forcing it. Then close the small cover until you feel it snap and lock.
Lift the main lid slightly and push the prop lever toward the back of the unit, then slowly close the cover, making sure it doesn’t close too quickly and damage the printer.
You are now ready to resume printing with your Canon PIXMA MX340 printer.
