mini320
The Canon PIXMA mini320 replaced the Canon mini260 for home snapshot printers. It features a sleek design with a built-in carrying handle and LCD display. The Canon Pixma mini320 ink is designed to print only in color, much like its predecessor, which may put some buyers off. MacWorld found the print speed to be about 1 minute and 17 seconds for a single 4" x 6", slower than some competitors.
Compact dimensions make the mini320 very portable. Its footprint is only 8.9"w by 10.2"d by 3.2"h. The Canon mini320 ink cartridges come in a combination pack with 100 sheets of glossy photo paper. The Canon mini320 inkjet cartridges contain three printer inks to produce color prints. It accepts 4x6", 4x7" and 5x7" paper sizes. It can print on card stock, coated paper and labels.
This units allows for printing straight from memory cards without the need for a computer. Supported memory cards include Secure Digital, SDHC, MultiMediaCard, CompactFlash, Microdrive, Memory Stick and Memory Stick Pro. The integrated LCD screen allows for selecting and editing photos, although it lacks the capability of showing the edited version before printing. Included are Canon's Easy-PhotoPrint EX software, user guide and drivers.
Of the Canon PIXMA mini320 inkjet printer, MacWorld said; "and while the mini320's print quality is very pleasing, faint scratches still appear on prints, presumably from the printer's roller—an issue I also found in the mini260." With the combination of glossy photo paper and printer ink that are sold as a unit, each print cost is about 30 cents, which is an increase over the last model. This makes it one of the more expensive models on the market.
While there is some concern about small scratches on finished products, the overall rating by MacWorld is ‘very good' for this model. This holds true with end-user reviews as well.
