LC7000
The Canon LC7000 laser fax is designed for the small or medium office environment. It is a full-featured fax machine with all the right components, but its slower speeds and lackluster print quality make it difficult to recommend over competing products, like the Oki C5800 that features Okidata 43324401 toner.
The Canon LC7000 laser fax has the usual compliment of fax features. It has an automatic document feeder for quickly and easily scanning multiple pages, eliminating the need to scan pages individually. It has only 500 KB of RAM, but this will store up to 32 pages in memory in the event that the unit is out of paper. It has a fairly limited paper capacity of 100 sheets in a single drawer. Users who frequently use more than one type of paper will need to empty the drawer before loading alternate paper.
The most disappointing aspect of the unit is its slow transmission speed of only 14,400 kbps, which is much slower than most competing units. Its print resolution also maxes out at 400 dpi. For the same price, users can find competing units that offer faster transmission speeds and higher resolution printing engines for better print quality.
Canon LC7000 toner cartridges have a capacity of 4,000 pages for each black laser toner cartridge. The fax toner cartridge is very affordably-priced, especially when using third-party compatible cartridges instead of the more expensive OEM cartridges. Even though they have a small capacity, these toners still have a lower cost per page than a lot of the competition, like Konica-Minolta 1710580-002 toner.
Print speed is slower than average, especially since it is mostly dependent on the unit's slow transmission speeds. Print quality is below average. The unit's 400 dpi does not have the clarity to produce truly sharp prints, though it is partially dependent on fax transmission quality. For more pages per cartridge and higher quality prints, check out a model that uses Dell 310-8094 toner.
Overall, the Canon LC7000 is a solid fax machine that does its job, but its slow speeds and lackluster quality make it a poor choice with so many better alternatives available.
